David Henry

Dr. Henry is a board-certified minimally invasive, bariatric, robotic, and general surgeon. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, bariatric, and robotic surgery from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Henry also completed a Mastery in General Surgery fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, during which he completed more than 830 surgeries.
Dr. Henry is board certified in surgery and obesity medicine. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Healthcare, which aims to reduce errors and increase efficiency in patient care. He also has certifications in FLS, FES, and da Vinci Xi robotic surgery, as well as bariatric training certificates from SAGES and the ASMBS.
Dr. Henry is a past President of the Hawaii Bariatric Society. He has completed nine mission trips in Mexico, India, Honduras, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico. He is now the Surgery Clerkship Director at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.
Dr. Henry has received the Who's Who Top Doctors award, America's Best Doctors award, two utility patents from the USPTO, three other patents applications submitted, a provisional patent, the AMA Physician's Recognition Award, the Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award from SLS, the Best Laparoscopic Resident Award, an American Legion Award, a Marine Corp League Award, and letters of commendation from a U.S. senator and representative. Dr. Henry has completed more than 4,000 surgeries to date.
He is available to speak on topics including minimally invasive surgery, general surgery, acute care surgery, robotic surgery, colon surgery, endoscopy, hernias, endoscopy, surgical education, and the business of surgery.
