The Department of Surgery/Division of General Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon to join the Section of HPB Surgery in the next year. The candidate is expected to develop a strong clinical program in HPB surgery. This faculty position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line (CE) at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Applicants must be board eligible/certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in HPB surgery. Significant interest and expertise in contributing to our robotic HPB surgery program is desired. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent clinical skills and collaborative abilities. A history of preclinical or clinical research is desired as well. Preclinical research experience that would fit well with opportunities at Stanford includes translational research focused on novel therapies for HPB care. Clinical research opportunities include outcomes assessment, patient safety and/or quality.

Salary Range:
Clinical Assistant Professor: $357,000 - $387,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $418,000 - $460,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
